A Guide That is More Than Chicago
I love tea. Chai tea, green tea, you name it, and name it tea, I'll probably drink it. Yet, I've always resisted going for high tea. (Or afternoon tea, British-style.) However, after reading some of the descriptions in Blumberg-Kason's book, I am ready to jump on a plane, fly to Chicago and sit down and cough up twenty dollars for tea, chicken salad on walnut bread, crepes with peanut sauce, chocolate canele and more. Much, much more. (She mentions which places gracefully and willing to serve seconds and thirds.) If that isn't enough to sell you on going for tea, how about the idea of slipping into a seat at a place called Infini-tea or Serenitea? If you aren't up for the whole tea and meal deal, there is a section that lists and describes restaurants, shops and tea houses. The guide mentions which places are child-friendly (some places even have special tea for children), have wifi, and are wheelchair accessible.) It also contains tea facts and quotes, a list of tea...

Bright flavor, smooth on the palate
I tasted this Matcha from Rishi the first time today. The flavor is bright, assertive and fresh. It mixes nicely into both hot and cold liquids, leaving no clumps of tea at the bottom of my glass after it was whisked. The tea powder is fine, giving it smoothness, no grittiness or grainy feel. I had it both in water and with milk; in both the flavor was not muddied. The flavor is more intense (bold) than most Matcha I've had, making others seem bland by comparison. Nothing off-putting, just seems more concentrated. It has a good crisp green color, and each packet holds about one tablespoon of Matcha. I am glad this order was for a pack of 2 because I can see myself going through one box quickly.

healthy refreshing tea for summer
I love it. Tastes great and it is very convenient to use. My husband drinks that in the car instead of soda or juice <just pour the powder to 32oz water bottle and shake well - directions on the box say to use 500ml(16.9oz) but the tea is really strong so we use 1L bottle)> my kids love it I love it. In Whole Food 1 box costs $20 + tax. Here you can get 2 boxes for the price if you use all promotions (currently 35% off) still quite expensive but well worth it!

Great tasting but a bit pricey .
This is a great tasting tea. I know it is a very healthy and nutritious tea. But in order to have one of these a day I have to be willing to spend at least $60 a month for this tea. That's two dollars a pop and after it ads up I simply can't justify the expense.I mean, for crying out loud, it's a sixteen ounce cup of tea. I know people spend more at Starbucks for something less healthy but I just can't afford to have this everyday. I can use that sixty bucks for a lot of other things. In fact, I decided to use the sixty dollars and buy dark green leafy vegetables at the supermarket along with other nutritious vegetables. Actually, I only need to spend a fraction of that amount per month and I get a lot more food.I know the polyphenols are supposed to be the highest quality in Rishi green tea but I will stick to buying Kirkland brand (Costco) or Treasure Island's green tea and save quite a bit of money. An acquaintance of mine told me about this tea...

Perfect for pastry chefs
I bought several of the Chicago Metallic nonstick pans designed for small pastries, such as quiches, dessert tarts, and teacakes. The pans are uniformly excellent. The pans don't leak. Food does not stick. Crusts brown evenly. I look forward to many years of serving food that looks elegant and tastes good.

Perfect for parties
This works perfect in turning cake into a finger food. A standard cake mix makes 2 batches (40 cakes). Fill 'em with chocolate, fruit, or jelly.Make sure you use a cooking spray such as Pam or the edge that holds the topping in will get ripped off when removing from the pan. Other than that, this thing works great; and the mini cakes are a party favorite.

This Tea Cake Pan makes a cute mini-muffin type of item. I like to use it for cornbread and put butter in the indentation.

Best of the best
I have been using this pan for years, and they (I have three of them) still look like newly bought. Cakes bake in a breeze, without burning, or not browning enough. This is the best pan for cake baking I have found, and do not doubt to compare it favorably with any other much more expensive cake pan.

#1 Choice In Bakeware
The weight of these pans are wonderful - I own three of the 9" rounds and have never had a problem with sticking or burning. You can't go wrong with this product.

Great product
This product is so simple, it is hard to get too excited about it, but here goes...Our previous cake pans were purchased in the department stores. They main selling point was their "no-stick" coating. These worked fine - at first but the no stick quickly wears off and the pans are thin & dark and the next thing you know is that all you are worried about is avoiding burns. We chucked those and got these. OK "no-stick", forget about that. Use PAM (for baking) instead. These pans are heavy gauge aluminum - HEAVY. They retain their shape and they spread the heat evenly. NO hot spots! They are heavy gauge aluminum - HEAVY. They don't burn which means they clean up easily (remember the PAM thing). They are heavy gauge aluminum - HEAVY... period. There is no funky coating to flake off down the road. Take care of these and you will have them for a long, long time.Bottom line - we like them and we'll be buying more (in different sizes) soon.

Product Description

Making a cake is a bit of an adventure, there's a certain amount of risk involved, suspense even. One of the ways to ensure your cake turns out perfectly done, and with good "crumb" is to use superior bakeware, like this pan. Made to withstand commercial use, while still producing a professional product, this is a cake pan worth owning. Top to learn more

Many excellent bakers prefer a cake pan without a fancy nonstick liner, knowing that traditional greasing and flouring provide enough coating for most recipes. This pan from Chicago Metallic provides everything you could want in such a pan: deep, perfectly straight sides, a thick rolled edge, and heavy-duty construction. With long-term use, the pan will darken, creating a need for slightly shorter baking times but enhancing the delicate crust of tender cakes. Both chocolate and white cakes bake up beautifully in this pan, rising evenly, developing a thin crust and good color, and releasing without breakage. The pan is dishwasher-safe, but hand washing is a breeze--when used with proper lining techniques, not much sticks to this pan. --Jill Lightner Top to learn more

The original Oi Ocha sold in Japan
Nothing against the prior reviewer who does not believe this is the original Oi Ocha, but I must say though...as a repeat buyer both of these 16.9 oz. bottles from Amazon as well as 2 liter imports straight from Japan, the two are identical. Every now and then I feel like having the stronger Oi Ocha Koi Aji (not sold by Amazon as of the time of this review), so I'm familiar with it as well. I've uploaded three photos, comparing the packaging, as well as closeups of exactly 1.0 fl. oz. of each. (The prior reviewer's pic has ice, no listed amount, and appears to be far darker than the Koi Aji he believes it is.) Hopefully, this will help folks decide for themselves...as for me, I'll just keep on drinking my favorite beverage. On to the actual review...for informational purposes, most of the bottled "green tea" sold in the US is nothing like real green tea. It's essentially tea-flavored kool-aid, with ingredients that have no business being there. Do not expect Oi Ocha to...

Delicious - Love it!
Why oh why drink sugar-laden sodas or even aspartame-filled diet drinks when you can drink something that's tastey and natural as well as good for you? That's what this stuff is - good green tea in a bottle that is ready-to-drink. It's absolutely great when cold. (The taste is nutty and mild.) Best of all, it has ZERO calories. But to be honest, I don't drink this because of the lack of calories. I drink it because it tastes GOOD. Buy some and see why it's getting very popular - even among those who aren't dieting.

Great little guide
After reading in Time Out Chicago that Ms. Blumberg was going to be signing her book at a local tea house I thought it might be a good way to learn a little about something I know nothing about. What a wonderful little guide book! While somewhat slim, it's chock full of useful info. I also purchased a copy for some relatives of ours that visit frequently. And in fact I think I'll buy a few more to give out to guests. As tea becomes more popular I'll look forward to Volume II!
